I couldn't agree with you more on "Making Money with your BBS". I've been 
on-line for over 10 years with a fairly large system, and with all I've got 
to offer, the modeming plblic today REFUSE to subscribe for any thing since 
there are soo many "other free systems" out there for the calling. It just 
ain't worth the effort to attempt to even regroup "expenses" let alone make a 
"profit" with a BBS.

Sue, no truer words have been spoken! Live and Learn! I carry over 150 FIDO 
and other net Echo's and made the "Stupid mistake" of letting low level 
callers have access to the .QWK off line reader/replier package and to my 
dismay one of my users did a "bombing run" of that Dave Rhodes SCAM letter 
into every echo that was available to him, I found out about it after it had 
gone out and I started to get "Nasty-Grams" from ALL of the Modeators of the 
effected echo's, to make a long story short, the off line reader is no longer 
available to any one [ due to this one stupid kid! ] and after sending out 
over 100 NetMail messages to the Moderators I kept my fone bill for all the 
calls and took the kid and his parents to Small Claims Court to get back MY 
expenses of what he cost me, the Judge [ and I thank the Lady dearly ] 
awarded me my expenses plus court costs and other damages [ think I got $100 
above my actual expenses from that one ] and consequently the kid hasn't been 
on ANY other systems since unless he's using another name!
Ya gotta be carefull today if you want to PYA [ protect yer a** ], too bad 
its coming to that today!
