Dawn Lease was overheard sharing her experiences at WDW...
 >We are Disney fanatics. The first trip we took was 15 nights/16 days.
 >We did take off two of those days to do non-Disney things, but even then
 >we did not see everything at WDW in that time! The parks are enormous
 >and jam packed with things to do.
 >
 >Ok, we have only stayed in two places on site - The Disney Vacation Club
 >(which is Disney's version of a timeshare, but they rent rooms out too)
 >and the Fort Wilderness Vacation Homes. We have seen Dixie Landings and
 >the Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge (I heard the rooms were small) and
 >the Polynesian - all of which look like great places to stay. The
 >Contemporary's exterior turns me off, but the interior looks good.
 >
 >The Disney Vacation Club: This has several room types: a studio (two
 >queen beds, a large bathroom, a small refrigerator and a microwave), a
 >one bedroom ( one bedroom with a king size bed, a jacuzzi bathtub, a
 >large bathroom with shower, a full kitchen, and a large living room plus
 >a washer and dryer), two bedrooms (the studio and one bedroom put
 >together, you even get the refrigerator and microwave in the smaller
 >bedroom), and a three bedroom (three bedrooms, one with two double beds,
 >one with two queen beds, and one with a king size bed with a personal
 >bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub. You get a total of four bathrooms (one
 >half bath) in the three bedroom. You also get a dining room and full
 >kitchen and washer and dryer). The Vacation Club is great. It's
 >decorated in a Key West style and is very quiet and relaxing. They have
 >several small swimming pools around the property and a larger themed
 >pool (and sauna and jacuzzi) near the Hospitality House. We loved the
 >size of the rooms and the peacefulness.
Hi ho Dawn! When you mentioned staying at DVC, I couldn't resist agreeing
with your nice comments about the place. I'll admit I'm very much biased
because my wife and I own a timeshare there. We've been around to the other
WDW resorts, but believe DVC's Old Key West Resort to be the best for us, and
we're glad we did decide to pay up and join! It's truly a 'home away from
home' there. Being in the DVC means we can swap our annual allottment of
points for any other WDW or worldwide resort/hotel, but it's still more
economical to go to Old Key West resort (the original DVC). Also, when we
compare the rooms, there's no comparison. We simply like having that big
kitchen and whirlpool! We're scheduled to go back there this November and,
of course, we're planning all the time for it! We'll stop over and check out
the new Boardwalk resort which is also part time-share. We got the points
conversion tables for it already, but I think because it's their first year,
they're charging to the hilt for it! We'll wait until it comes down a bit.
Does all this make us Disney fanatics as well?
Perhaps...
