subject: uppercase directories

Hello Jasen,
VB>> Now, I hadn't thought of that. Although that may cause probs with
VB>> win95 if it expects certain files to be in a certain case.
JB> filenaes aren't case sensitive, if it tries to open SYSTEM\foo.DAT
JB> and the file's actually called System\FOO.dat it'll still work.
They are on one of my descript.ion editors. Which is what started this off
in the first place :-) Dir's must be uppercase filename must be lowercase
or it just ignores/doesn't display their descriptions. Anyway thanks again
for this solution Jasen.
JB> (they tell me you need /I after global)
Noted.
VB>> I thought there may be a 4dos toggle switch to do this sort of thing,
VB>> so that it displays as per previous versions running under DOS 6.22.
JB> /X will go "back" to the old way (but you won't see LFNs)
Doesn't on mine. I get both directories and filenames in uppercase, but as
you say with no LFNs.
Rgds, Vic
