>BN> Bill
Bill, I think that if you check closely with that school, you just might find
that they are teaching OFFICE 97, not Windows 97. I repeat, Microsoft WILL
NOT be issuing the next version of Windows as Windows 97, they will call it
Windows Memphis as there is a problem copyrighting a number. That's why Intel
did not produce a 686 chip. They produced a Pentium instead. That way nobody
else can produce a copy NAMED THE SAME. (Penta is six). Remember several
manufacturers produced a 286 after Intel, and a 386, etc. Now there are
manufacturers making a 686, a 6-86 and so on, but only Intel makes a Pentium.
This is probably the way of the future, I doubt that many software publishers
that care about imitators will be using
numbers in their names in the future because of the copyright
problems. Some may not care, it depends on their size and their sales.
By the way Bill, The naming of the next version of Windows as Memphis is not
just an opinion of mine. I deal with some of
the upper people in Microsoft and the naming of the next version as Memphis
is an established fact and the reason they say is because of the copyright.
