That's a good possibility, I'll have to remember to pick up a spare SAT
cable.  When I was working with it I did unplug and reattach the SATA
cable at both ends.

Interesting how things work out.  I was using XP to type this but it 
would not connect with my ISP all of a sudden so it did not get sent. 
In the meantime I got my ecs machine running and restored everything 
from tape.  I used it yesterday but this afternoon when I turned it on I 
got the boot disk failure msg again.

Then I remembered that I actually had another sata card, so I got the 
cable from it and used it but same failure.  Then I swapped the other 
card itself in and was able to boot.  So was that the problem or was it 
just an anomaly that I was able to boot.  I guess time will tell.
