You said in another post the same day that the NAEP found that only 38%
of HS seniors could come up with an adequate written response to some sample
they were given to read. That means that public schools already have a
higher failure rate.
Those of us who want public schools "run like small businesses" are
talking about cutting the non-teacher bureacracy. We're talking about all
the very-well-paid central-office people who have redundant job titles in a
typical school district. We're talking about all the perks the bureacrats
get, like the deputy superintendant who gets paid to drive $25/day to drive
to work.
