You bet Carl. But, it is easy to switch back and forth between standard
and ANZI sets; ANZ25.com is only 3664 bytes (not K!), and DOS termcomms
all let you shell to dos... where you can run it, and when you get back
to the host, most of the termcomms will not notice the change. There
are a few that so tightly control the video mode, they will cancel it,
but they are not the popular ones.
CM>Yes, if you used any codes below ASCII 32, you may have problems...
yeah, I do use many of them, and tried to avoid obvious hassle from the
esc, CR LF, tab, EOF,... just havn't figured out how many of them there
are that will cause trouble. How bout I send a series of short email
with samples of the main suspects in each to see what happens?

Well, actually, no. the menu screens would look weird to a sysop who had
them up on his monitor, but they would go thru the comm port like any
other ascii codes.

Well, I *should* be able to reach you on the internet, I have signed on
as daybrown@artelco.com BUT: they just started with it in my rural
area, and between their inexperience with the host, and my own ideo-
syncratic way of persisting in DOS, I am having a helluva time. When I
logon on to the local I get:
rt1-atc>
and if I respond with:
rt1-atc> ?
I get a list of what looks like unix commands which includes connect,
ftp, rlogin, slip, telnet ppp.... and a buncha junk I never read about.
If I connect with a BBS, the interface seems normal, except that it is
a lot slower than what I get if I pay the ld$ to logon direct. Course,
along with the new system is a new modem. thank god I found a copy of
commo to run... still gotta catch fred to see if he can send a new key
if he still has a copy of my registration...
But, if I connect with an intenet host which asks for my name, and
I do "anonymous" followed by my address as above, I get denied access.
come to think of it, maybe my host is not sending out the same thing
that it told me was my address?
