My first modem was a Maestro ZXR 2400. With the 005a ROM it was stable.

A few modems like the Dataplex DPX-225-01 I previously owned and my present
Motorola Codex 3266 Fast V.34 have in-built power supplies and plug
directly into the 240V mains without an external plug pack.

You may want an internal modem, but I love having an external modem with
LCD display and front panel controls that sits comfortably under my Telstra
Touchfone T200R...
