Hi Jim,
After you removed the SCSI boot-disk did you go into the Adaptec BIOS
(CTRL+A) and set it to no boot device, to stop it checking for any?
I leave the IDE CD|DVD drive set permanently as first boot-device-
doesn't seem to make any significant increase in boot-time, and doesn't
need any BIOS changes if you need to boot from it.
I wouldn't think you're seeing the start of hardware problems apart from
that previous (old?) SCSI disk.
I don't have any experience with Intellistations, but do remember that
on one IBM desktop I used that some of the BIOS options weren't exactly
intuitive - it wasn't obvious that one had to press enter when the
cursor was over an item that appeared to be "disabled" [sort of
greyed-out] in order to bring up the sub-menu - in that case to access
the IDE controller settings.
Regards,
Mike
