Funny, I feel much the same way about Rockwell's command set, although I really wouldn't care if the USR was controlled by a bank of DIP switches, as it is now connecting at least 2 to 3 x 2400bps steps higher than the KTX used to (33k6 as opposed to the KTX's 26k4, with the same remote modems). It's also quite interesting just how useful the USR's link diagnostics can be, although one tends to take them for granted until they are no longer available...
