| subject: | Looking for my lost code |
Hello, Darryl.
Monday January 11 2010 at 20:38, you wrote to Mike Roberts:

I still actively develop BBS doors and utilities. They don't get a ton of
use, but as long as someone still finds them useful, I'll keep writing
them. It's the same way with my BBS-I generally have the same callers
every day, but I'm one of the few boards that offers Blue Wave offline mail
(from what I'm told), so as long as they find it useful, I'll keep the
board up.
As for my own BBS mail network I run, well, I think that's in place for my
friends to talk crap about me "behind my back" when I'm not
looking. I tend to fall inactive at times posting since I am both looking
for work and have restarted my computer business back up (I actually HAVE
customers this time around :). It's been discovered that some trash
talking about the ZC behind his back (in public in the admin echo no less)
tends to wake him up.
Fidonet seems pretty active for the most part. Kinda hit or miss, but I
still hang around. My BBS is rock solid and I really don't have to do much
work on it besides adding more stuff to it so it's not a big deal.
Besides, the fun factor of people exclaiming "I didn't know BBSes were
still around!" never gets old with me.
I think that's the same for many of us still in Fidonet and in BBSing in
general. At one time in 2008 after my car accident, I was seriously
thinking about just getting out of BBSing altogether. I'd discussed this
with my wife (who has never known me NOT to be running a board of some
type) and she said "You'd not know what to do with yourself if you
weren't running a BBS." I thought about it for a while and sadly, I
came to agree with her. :)
Later,
Sean
