| subject: | [OS2HW] Extra Case Fan Conundrum...? |
I installed an extra case fan in my computer. It has two short
cables with connectors on the distant ends. One has a three
pronged male connector with a keying device so that it will
fit on a 4-prong MB fan plug, but only onto 3 specific prongs.
This cable has only two wires. It also has a standard 4-pin
power cable connector with an adapter that fits the 3-prong
connector.
Why is the adapter to a 4-pin power cable a female connector?
How can I give it power when 4-pin power connectors from the
power supply also are female?
The other lead from the fan is a single wire marked
temperature sensor. Should this single wire cable be connected
to the 4 pin on the MB fan connector?
