Your modem doesn't drop carrier when you have an incoming call waiting, and
it doesn't drop carrier when you pick up the other phone and hear the call
waiting tones?

Your best answer is to sell this modem to Ian Smith (who has trouble
maintaining any connection) and buy yourself something less robust.
