Is it a brand of Ethernet chip > or is it something related only to remote booting or both. > > Martin > Hi Martin, I don't know whether you have lost (or never had) the printed manual for that tomcat motherboard, but I was quoting from looking at the manual available from Tyan as : ftp://ftp.tyan.com/manuals/m_s2865_110.pdf From my reading - it's simply a matter of using a jumper to enable the use of that MAC item (I know nothing about those either - having never encountered one - yet) as the LAN2 connection - by default it's disabled. I don't have any idea what driver you'd have to use for it! :-\ When I read above document I was under the impression it was part of the nVidia chipset - note the block diagrams in above. I have noted in the past that one has to usually query with the seller exactly what is comprised with the items! Regards, Mike Yahoo!
