My point was that nobody is paying attention to this fact when they scream
about SS being underfunded.   This money is going in but the
people whose wages it is coming out of will never collect, therefore it
enlarges the pie for those who will collect.

BTW you don't have an "account".   If you had an
"account" the amount
you got out would be related to the amount you paid in, which is not the
case -- die after collecting one year, the government keeps the rest; live
to 120 you probably collect not only more than you paid in but possibly
more than you could have generated for yourself by putting the money in
savings.   (NO, I HAVE NOT CALCULATED THE LAST PART, I'M
HYPOTHESIZING.)
