Hello, Donald.
Thursday September 17 2009 at 06:05, you wrote to me:

Yeah they will-just don't send the raw EXE or in a ZIP file. Google is too
damn retarded to look for everything, so if you send it in a RAR archive,
it will go through the system just fine...or just rename the EXE file to
not have an EXE extension.
DT> Norton Internet Security 2009 now says that winrar390.exe contains a
That's your first problem-Norton is a POS. I used to charge $55 an hour to
remove Norton Security, Antivirus, et al. from people's systems because
it's so bad. I don't know if they've fixed it, but it used to require not
one, but THREE, small programs to uninstall and patch Windows after
uninstalling Norton-Norton would get so tangled up that it couldn't
uninstall itself!
I'd use Avast! or something for antivirus. I've got dual firewalls on my
LAN (both hardware), so I don't use a software firewall on my Windows
machine.

I have never had a virus on any Windows system I've owned in well over 15
years. Prudent hardening of the Windows OS and common sense seems to have
trumped any little critters on my system-that and I know where I'm going to
download stuff. That is an amazing fact with most Windows
users-they just don't pay attention to files and install everything free
they can on it. That's why I get called to unfu*k their systems at $60 an
hour (I do it on the side these days).
DT> Its also annoying that companies like Pkware still charge a lot of

No, because most people have to play keeping up with the Joneses and use
every buggy piece of software Microsoft releases to force you into their
line of thinking.
DT> Am I mistaken, or is BBS Carnival the only BBS related echo that

DT> BBS_Doors, DOorgames have just died. What's the story behind that
DT> situation?
BBS_DOORS has been dead for many a year and I handed off the moderatorship
of DOORGAMES to Ben Ritchey. Many of the people who hung out in DOORGAMES
are no longer involved with BBSing (at least directly).
Later,
