GU> The base computer running OS/2 does have a 16550 UART. The

Greg, if you are running LapLink in OS/2, I can't recommend too strongly that
you get a parallel cable. Before I managed to find time to get to a store
that sold one, I had _enormous_ trouble with LL3 in OS/2. I never got it
working reliably at more than 38400bps on a 486dx2/50. If you MUST use serial
:
* run in a fullscreen session
* close all other background tasks
* set COM_DIRECT_ACCESS appropriately
* set IDLE_SENSITIVITY to 100
* set INT_DURING_IO to ON
* be prepared for lockups, it will take a LONG time for the system to
respond to keystrokes (even ^Esc and @Esc) so that you can switch away to
kill the DOS window.
Parallel works fine without any of this tweakery.
