We were at Disneyland on Wednesday afternoon, standing in line for a
ride. Some kid (about the height of my elbow, maybe a little taller)
tried to sort of "edge past" me. There are a number of kids who try this
tactic. They don't like waiting in line like everyone else, so they try
to scoot past you in line like there is some urgent emergency they must
attend to, or like they have a friend waiting up there ahead (when
really they don't). I'd imagine they get through 1 hour long lines in 15
minutes or less (I'd try it out myself, but I'm a little too tall to
pull it off without people noticing).
Anyhow, it mildly annoys me.
So this kid was trying this the other day. I looked down at him and
said, "Where are you going?" And that stopped it. He stayed behind me.
Funny thing, the whole family was with him. A couple of siblings and a
parent (or two?). I wonder why the parent couldn't correct their own
kid?
-> I had lots of deprivation, especially for an only child.  My friends
-> kept telling me how lucky I had it, but they were the ones who had
-> stereos & waterbeds while I didn't.
And look how well you turned out. ;-)
I keep saying that I'm not going to get my kids a car. No one ever gave
me a car. I bought my first one after I got out of high school. I think
it's going to be easy to say "no", again, because if the money ain't
there...
And look how much my kids will learn from the deprivation! Builds
character.

Yes, there is a patron saint of teachers, and I feel like I should know
that one. Hmm. Somehow I think it's Saint Joseph.
