Hello, Rob.
Wednesday September 23 2009 at 17:05, you wrote to me:

No, the issue was that I use RAR for the authenticity verification and that
RAR is $20 cheaper to register than PKZIP. It's also that RAR is a better
archiver than ZIP. Info-ZIP was never mentioned as it doesn't do the
authenticity archive stuff. What I've ran into is that for some reason,
many sysops complain about RAR as if it's the scourge of the BBS world.
What many of them don't realize that is outside of the US, where we tend to
be a little backwards, RAR is used quite heavily and successfully.
The folks at RARSoft are also quite nice; they gave me a free v2.02 (the
version I use for BBS stuff) key with my 3.xx registration for WinRAR. The
kicker was that when I installed RAR 3.90 on my BBS machine, that version
of RAR saw the old 2.02 key and instantly became registered, which is quite
nice.
I emailed the PKZIP people and never heard word one from them.
Guess who's getting my money? :)
I owe you an apology if I sounded rather curt in my last message to you. I
have been under a lot of physical and emotional stress lately and have been
posting when I should have waited when my fuse wasn't so damn short.
