I would guess that your notion of "true infinity" is causing some confusion
here, as I imagine that most of the people you're talking to are interpreting
the word "infinite" as meaning precisely "not finite". At least that's how I
use the word.
This is an example of how unacknowledged differences in terminology can cause
much unnecessary disagreement. I think greater precision should be strived
for.
