     Yep. that's what it turned out to be. I finally just 
     chopped them all back. I will have to remember what not
     to do for next year.

    Yes. A disastrous choice - oddly enough, the first few 
    applications the month before did not harm the plants.

   I will go with that next time. As well, I might even try
   the live-bug predator plan for next year. I have seen 
   exactly ONE live lady bug here, introducing a few would
   certainly be helpful!
