Hey!

I hear Ya.. I also used to be a big downer on games, I thought what a waste
of time and effort to have people log on, spend an hr playing games ( nothing
else ) and then asking for more time to play more. I never was one for that.
I have mellowed quite a bit and even consider door players users now I
also figure if I am going to post or play a game or two, I already know the
userbase is not out there anymore, but I have a few theories why, too. Not
just the internet, which is always the excuse. But there are some things we
as sysops seemed to have missed along the way, and some never knew as they
were not old enough back then. Then there are users and sysops alike who
think it should not evolve, which does not help either. But again, how about
if I listen to a bunch of 33rpm records, Most don't anymore, but does that
mean I can't enjoy it? No, and if You like the record I am listening to, does
that mean we can't enjoy listening to the same record? no... But chances are,
most are still going to be listening to their ipods or cds etc, cuz thats
what they do today. I have had a theory about things that might help improve
BBS useage for focused specified groups of people, but have yet to implement
anything as I feel in the long run it may be a lot of work with no returns.

Like You, and what some users may not understand, If someone else is going to
use it, it makes it worthwhile. Like the other day, someone asked to donate
on my system. Thanks! That is great, but just enjoy using the system, if it
is something You think someone else might like, pass it on. Thats about all
You can ask of Your users and it brings a little satisfaction in knowing that
sharing Your hobby, is also helping someone else enjoy it too.. That kinda
goes for any hobby doesn't it?

Have a good one Sean!
Mike
