| subject: | [OS2HW] HDD Anomaly |
Ever since I finished upgrading my laptop to an 80GB hard drive from a
40GB drive a couple of months ago, I have the weird circumstance where
the light which indicates HDD activity will come on and stay on solid
until I do something which requires access to the drive, at which time
the light will flicker during the access and go out after the access is
completed. It will then stay off for a while if no further activity,
then come on solid again until further disk activity.
Anyone have a clue as to what could be happening? Is there some utility
that can monitor disk access so I can see whether maybe something
unsuspected is really accessing the drive?
