Now that you mention it, I have seen numerous updates for the TCPIP *stack*,
but I don't remember seeing an update for PPP.EXE/SLATTACH.EXE/SLIPPM.EXE/et
al for some time now - 1995, I think. As I recall, that was what you
recommended to fix the 'invalid protocol' thing we're seeing now. Have *you*
run across an update for those programs?

I havem and have updated regularly, that software (RSU from Warp 4) but have
never used it. Perhaps I should try it out! :^)
