Possible, but a lot depends on the mass of the recoiling bolt.  You might 
have to go to a spring so light that it would not have enough force to 
shove the cartridge in battery reliably.
If you can locate a spare bolt, and drill it out to about 1/2 to 1/3 the 
original mass, and a spring tuned to cycle such, it should work fine.
It really depends, some guns are made so they barely function with 
hivelocity ammo, they need hypervelocity ammo to work well, some are made 
on the other end of the spectrum.
I know that there have been conversions done like this that do work.  You 
might also need to alter your magazine, feed lips and such...
It's worth a try if you are seriously interested.
