Stephen, at 15:22 on Jan 28 1997, you wrote to Bill Grimsley... BG> Nope. That model Dynalink is based on the USR Sportster, BG> which does not have flash-ROM, just your average EPROM. BG> Ergo, the only cure is to physically replace the EPROM BG> (sadly, a non-socketed SMD device). SK> You mean you have to solder a new one in? Precisely, although the most recent model Dynalink (which I've just purchased) has been fitted with a socketed EPROM. AFAIK, the buggy ones were all soldered directly to the PCB, making replacement a real drama. SK> As I said, I've never experienced this bug. Any ideas when SK> the fully functional version came out or how to recognise it? I believe that if ATI7 shows an EPROM and DSP revision of 2.5 or later, the problem will have been eliminated, but can't verify that immediately. SK> One hopes that Dynalink will do the righty and allow owners SK> of the buggy model to upgrade at no/ minimal cost. It isn't up to Dynalink. The law says that if they've sold you a faulty product, they MUST replace or repair it FOC. Having said that, if you've not yet noticed the pausing problem, it's unlikely that yours is so affected.
