Hello, Glenn. Wednesday December 16 2009 at 12:45, you wrote to All: GJ> Is the only way now via Telnet, internet or does the old modem method GJ> still achieve inbound callers? BBSes are available via telnet, Web and dialup-just depends on what you're looking for. Might I suggest looking at the Telnet BBS Guide (http://www.telnetbbsguide.com) or if you like Synchronet check out the updated-nightly Synchronet BBS List at http://www.synchro.net/bbslist.html? Both are good places to find boards. There is also a well-maintained dialup BBS list at the Telnet BBS Guide's website somewhere also. Another interesting place is http://www.bbsfinder.com. That is a "real-time" BBS list. BBSes run a little program that "reports" to the main BBSFinder server every five minutes to tell the server that they're "alive". I use the service for my system as do many other people and it's a good way to find active boards. GJ> Has any of the old software I've listed been patched for the Y2K GJ> issue? Some of the much older software is broken, but 99% of the boards you'll connect to today have the Y2K problem fixed. GJ> I'm sure I'll have a few more questions if that's okay... You're more than welcome to ask. :) Later, Sean //sean{at}nsbbs.info | http://nsbbs.info | ICQ: 19965647 ...
