So should our acceptance of what somebody says be based upon their
"education"?
George says he is a third-year college student in physics (or has completed 3
years, I don't recall which). He makes various claims. I have an
engineering bachelor's degree and finished the coursework for a master's.
Does that mean you should automatically accept what I say over what he says?
After all, I'm "more educated" than he is.
How about when a Ph.D. says something? Do you accept everything that Paul
Kurtz (head of CSICOP) or Michael Shermer (head of the Skeptics Society)
says? In the list of fellows for CSICOP, I see a number of professors,
doctors, etc. Do you automatically believe them over George?
