Well I guess that's ONE way to fix them 

ECCO casual/semi dress shoes are great. My first pair is about 4 or so
years old and still comfortable . I wore them almost every day for three
years, in rain snow etc and still in fairly good shape. No longer quite as
dressy  but still good.
