Hello, Shawn.

Monday October 12 2009 at 10:45, you wrote to me:

They've done some really dirty tricks when it comes to how the cartridges
work and how the chip interacts. I can't say much more about it (NDA) but
suffice to say that it would take a lot of money and time to re-engineer
chips to work.

SH> Both my printers are Laser. If I need to print colour the boss has

I'd like a color laser but I've yet to justify the expense. 95% of my
personal printing is in black n' white. I know how to hand-fill the HP 20
cartridge that the DeskJet 500 takes. I'll be buying a gallon of ink that
will work with it-that could possibly last me two to three years. It's not
difficult to do, but if you don't do it right and do it fast, you will have
ink all over you, your workspace and floor within a heartbeat. Trust me-I
know this from experience.

SH> THat's cool! I use internet faxing so don't even have the phone
SH> line plugged into my Lexmark. THe one at the office doesn't have a
SH> fax, just scanner and printer so it's perfect. :)

I can do that with this printer too. It does support "Internet
printing" but I can't remember exactly how. That would freak the hell
out of my cats-Maura and I would both be gone at work and suddenly the
printer would wake up and spit out paper. Poor Tigger'd have a heart
attack and Felix would simply attack the printer viciously.

SH> Very nice! SOunds like a good machine for sure!

It is. Once I get that voice/data switch for my hardline, I can fax my ass
to China if need be. :P

Later,
Sean
