Sorry I can't be specific, but I read that McCain wrote that his engines
failed and he hit the water...and a Navy inquiry  concluded: Pilot error,
the engines were running when the aircraft hit the water.

Although I believe this, I'm not interested enough to pursue this and
become certain, one way or the other.

McCain's concession speech was a class act.
