subject: Dynalink E288MX

G'day fellow BBS users.

    I have two Dynalink "fastdeskmodem" E288MX V.34 Fax modems. (A rebadge
    of some kind, but don't know who manufactured them, there is a
    colourful label under the Dynalink label).

    The factory init string causes problems in pausing (discussed for the
    33k6 models) and in general very poor data transfer rates.

    I've tried a Netcomm M34F on the same lines with no problems at all.
    Could any of you recommend a known to be reliable init string for
    typical BBS use (no fax), or should I attempt to return them (only 6
    months old rarely used) for a refund/swap?

    The active profile used is;

    %E1 %G1 \A3 \G0 \J0 \K5 \N3 \T000 \V0 \X0 -J1 "H3 "N2

    Tried S12=000 makes no noticeable diff.
