The earth my be getting warmer, but it's getting darker - the amount of
solar radiation reaching the surface has decreased by some 10% in the last
30 years or so. I read it in a magazine, but it's no doubt on line
somewhere...

That already happens here in midsummer. Not quite that bad, but 10 minutes
of noon sun will produce a definite pink hue to the skin that evening. In
the new UV Index notation, yesterday peaked at 12 where I live. It's
especially dangerous because the sun doesn't feel "hot", and
daytime temperatures rarely exceed 25C.
