Yes, I actually got paid to be a sysop! And I lost the job because I was doing too many sysopy things. I was the maintainer of the CardBoard BBS for 3Com, running TBBS. My job was to keep the network card drivers up to date on the BBS so that customers could download the latest and greatest. I also maintained an online database of FAQ's and HOW-TO's. I had to add all the latest RFC's, etc. The thing was that I was working too much on writing door games and stuff for my own TBBS BBS at the time, that I was letting other work activities fall by the wayside. When I left bbsing a few years ago, I did it because I found a new thing to do to occupy my time. I took up candy and toy vending, but now that I'm in a groove with that, I find myself having more time and thinking about BBSing again. --- Mystic BBS v1.08 A31 (Linux)* Origin: Clutch BBS * telnet://clutch.darktech.org (1:250/310) SEEN-BY: 10/1 11/200 331 14/250 18/200 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 SEEN-BY: 261/1411 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/104 260 267 285 SEEN-BY: 690/682 734 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 303 SEEN-BY: 5030/1256 @PATH: 250/310 100 123/500 261/38 633/260 267 |
