Neale,

If you are running Windows 95, you may need to load into DOS and use a card
enabler. Some code upgrade programs actually use the Card and Socket
services to access the card, instead of a COM port and Interrupt.

Otherwise (if it does use a com port and IRQ), make sure that the IRQ is
not in the 16bit range (irq's 10,11,12,15) as most DOS based comms
(including firmware loaders) can't get access to these irq's.

It's been a while since I have even touched a Hayes modem (I don't think
they are as good as a NetComm or USR), but you may want to check to see if
the loader supports different parameters, as these may be the key.
