subject: My stand on UFOs

I stress these points I have presented in the name of UFOlogy. Too
much "I believe" deters from legitimate research, because there just
aren't any aliens being found behind the bush. Too many people are
associating UFOs with alien visitors/invaders. A healthy dose of
reality is needed from time to time, and that too is part of my
job, so don't misunderstand my motives. ;-)
Now that the more "aggressive" skeptics have retreated to the
background to either re-group or sulk (I don't care which), our
remaining "staff" of skeptic contributors are called upon to keep
the rest of us in touch with reality. I call upon all UFO researchers,
UFOlogists, and investigators to continue their activities, but with
skeptism uppermost in their minds. My advice is best for our image,
believe me.
As to my own personal sighting in 1953, nothing is changed. To the
best of my knowledge, "we" (U.S., Soviet, or anyone else on Earth)
did not have anything that could perform or duplicate the maneuvers
the flying machine I saw. Even by today's standards of "flying
triangles" which can easily be stealth aircraft, it would still be
amazing to see a flying disk without any visible control surfaces.
I don't even see a disk-shaped flyer as aerodynamically feasible.
...Not as an atmosphere flyer, that is. Still, when attempting to
draw conclusions, I have to hesitate to suggest the probabilities
point to alien visitors.
In my opinion, a disk-shaped flyer does not use the flow of air
over its surfaces as its main medium of propulsion. This points
to a propulsion system that is unknown to all or most of us.
I do not believe in anti-gravity, but I do believe in the possibilty
of a much more stronger electromagnetic engine than we are currently
familiar with on a civilian basis. ...An engine capable of overcoming
gravity just as lighter than air aircraft are capable of.
