That's not it. :) They ALL did the same thing, as I said in the message

You know, I think I figured out what the main problem was, and this is
something that can benefit anyone thinking of adding a new modem to their
system.
BEWARE the cheaper Windows 95 versions of some modems! Why? Well, you can
consider the box that says "Requires a Pentium 100" or similar.
I thought that just meant for optimal use of the software, not so!
** These cheapo modems are eating all your CPU time in order to operate!
Since I've only got a Cyrix P150+, I don't have that kind of CPU power
to spare, so I got lucky and managed to take it back and get a REAL,
hardware modem that would work in a 286 if I wanted it to! :) Sure it
cost another $25 but it was well worth it. Now my MIDI files play
fine, and music comes through the websites beautifully!
I recommend the EDIROL website that also sells cheaper Sound Canvases! :)
