PQ> CB> A lot of people have disliked the RPI and Winmodems because
PQ> CB> they don't come with DOS drivers, but nobody is writing them
PQ> CB> because there are simply too many details to deal with.
PQ> Probably because it is easier to intercept IO calls via windows
PQ>better, using VxD style files and all.
Not really. It could be done as a Fossil style driver. Most comm
programs support those.
PQ> I know, mine is a 33.6k. My 133 cannot connect at 33.6 because
PQ>it isn't powerful enough.
A 133mhz Pentium or even a 486 should have enough power for it.
It might be tight because of what Windows wants, but the power is
there. Those processors have more horsepower and data processing
ability than the DSPs in the modems themselves.
PQ> Thanks for your help, and patience..
No problem. Glad I could help, but sorry you couldn't do what you
wanted.
