By "bps" do you mean "bits per second" or "bytes per second"?  If the
former, the throughput is not dramatically different from that
possible with Zmodem.  If the latter, care to explain how _any_
transfer protocol can exceed the absolute speed of the link? 
Consider: a 28,800 connect is 28,800 _bits_ per second, and that's
(generously) 3600 _bytes_ per second.  No protocol can exceed the
absolute limit imposed by the link speed.
Your post is most likely off-topic, but I thought it important to
point out certain "discrepancies" in your report.
