subject: telix doorway mode

On 24 Feb 98 13:21:00, a Gin and Tonic at the Angler's Rest overheard
Gordon Preete say to Pete Granzeau:
GP>OK so let me see if I got it right..When I in Telix I turn on the
GP>Doorway mode...jump to shell Dos & go into a diff. DIR. on my HD say
GP>like Corridor7..play the game..while I'm stiil in Telix..Or do I have t
GP>have door games like other BBS in order to really use Doorway mode???
Neither is true. You call another computer (usually a BBS) with Telix in
its normal mode. Once you are talking to the other computer, you enter the
command to do something (play a game, usually), and that game requires you
to use, say, the up and down arrow keys. In Telix, up arrow starts your
computer uploading a file, and down arrow starts your computer receiving a
file. You don't want to do either of those. Instead, you enter Alt-Equal,
and you are now in doorway mode. You can enter the up and down arrow keys,
and they will be sent to the game on the BBS computer. When you are done
with the game, you can hit Alt-Equal again, and get control of Telix back.
