My point was that the airlines wouldn't stand for that level of cover-up.
It's costing them lots of money. A terrorist missile would have cost them a
lot less in terms of passenger confidence than having them know they're
riding on a corroding wire timebomb. As a parallel, think of the WTC.
Imagine if no-one had seen the planes hit and the forensic evidence seemed
to point to, say, a gas explosion or something that could fail in any
ageing highrise. How many people would still want to work in a highrise?
