Hello Donna,
Well I only taught them 2 hours on Monday, but my husband brought home a
old old computer and Jeremy played with it until bedtime. Did really good
learning about Dos and stuff. The other two decided to write a story.
They worked on it all nite. The next day I went and picked up my car
from my mothers house. Had to get insurance and tags and stuff. I decided
not to have school. But the kids came home and Jeremy worked on the
computer the rest of the day. The other two kids worked on their story
again. So I decided to count that as school since they were all learning
and doing stuff. It was nice to see the other two doing something school-
like on their own. Jeremy being ADHD/ODD did have too bad of a day. He
loves computers so he even read help files to figure some things out. They
needed a break I guess, I needed a break too, and yet they learned and did
school-type stuff. To me, that means I must be doing something right.
They seem to have been motivated enough to be very constuctive with their
free time. I know the spelling in those stories are probably wrong and
that the sentence structures are not right, but you know, I really don't
care. The fact that they did this on their own and want to put it in the
computer so they can read it for school, has me thrilled to death. Thanks
for your advice you gave me earlier.
