Is there any difference between DSS dishes & receivers made by RCA, Uniden,
GE,
and Magnavox? In the basic models (Magnavox IRD500PK @ $300, Uniden UDS-100
@ $300, RCA ?? @ $400/$300[?], GE ?? @$300) they all look similar for the
ish
& minor cosmetic changes in the receivers (all 8 button control panel). I
can get these prices on the Magnavox ($70 delivered after rebates) then
niden
($90 deliver) GE ($120) then RCA ($120/$227). GE & RCA are local purchases
s
mail order on the other two. Specs appear to be same, 32-bit, universal
remote,
LEDs on dish for tracking, S-VHS & AV outlets, data port, OSD, etc. The
Magnavox/Phillips comes with 2 Six Flags passes & coupons ($110 value) which
seems to be its major "advantage", all require the same pre-paid DIRECTV
al.
Thoughts anybody, Gene, Tom? I'm ready to buy!
(AUDIO related, it gets 30+ "CD Quality Music Stations". A strech I'll admit
but I'll bet a lot of Audiophiles are also Videophiles with Home Theater
set-up)
