Hello Bill, BG> will become confused by the service tones. Changing to X2 or X3 will BG> solve your problem. BG> Have a quote from the USR manual... BG> Result Code Options BG> Result Codes X0 X1 X2 X3 X4 BG> 0/OK * * * * * BG> 1/CONNECT * * * * * BG> 2/RING * * * * * BG> 3/NO CARRIER * * * * * BG> 4/ERROR * * * * * BG> 5/CONNECT 1200 * * * * BG> 6/NO DIAL TONE * * BG> 7/BUSY * * BG> 8/NO ANSWER * * BG> etc. I have seen the above in the manual, but not knowing how to interpret it, I could not use it until now. I have entered atx=3, so will see what happens. Does entering the command as I have done become permanent, and if not, how does one make a permanent change. I don't see anything in the manual about the subject?? (Perhaps I can't see the forest for the trees ). If your fix works, I will be eternally gratefull.
