AFAIK this would tend to indicate the two modems aren't even "talking" to

each other, ie. no protocol negotiation at all or failure to negotiate a

common protocol.



I would be interested to see your M34F's setup - after you next power-on

type "AT&V7" and post the results to me in NetMail so I can
pick the bones

out of it.  ;-)
