* First off, in MI we have to teach Grammar.  Jonathon my 11 year old is in
  * 5th grade.  He was retained in first grade due to his ADHD and learning

  Get a hold of _Easy Grammar_ and /or _Daily Grams_ for that.  One page
   a day, fairly painless :)
   Another thing that is very good for teaching  parts is
  _MAd Libs_..a story is given, with blanks.
  under the blank line, all it says is (noun, verb, adverb etc)
    One person goes through and says and asks others for  the part that
  is needed (NOT READING THE STORY FIRST!)..when all the blanks are
  filled in, there is a funny story read aloud.
 BTW: to my knowledge, the law that Engler signed in January (to take
 effect July 1) was negated by another law passed in April.
 We are back to freedom in Michigan :)
