GM> When I have to download a qwick pack, put it into a reader, then for
GM> some reason I treat the whole thing with a bit more respect-(have you
GM> noticed this?) and to know that I'm not also going to get spammed by
GM> some commercial geek from out of this group, etc., then I know that
GM> there was wisdom behind Gilmore's decision not to screw with this.
GM> Hats off to you, GG!
I wasn't really referring to gating the echo; I was referring to an FTP site
that had the messages available for download. But when it gets down to it,
it's probably just as much trouble to load up the FTP program and log onto a
site to get the messages as it is to use Telix.
GM> There's something about this group which has more class...
GM> No unwanted Gif's and jpg's etc.(sorry, Jim)
No nude shots of all the guitarists here? Damn! ;)
GM> If memory serves you're the fellow that lives next door to Mr. Tumeni
GM> Notes, right?
I live about an hour and a half away from him and Dave LaRue. Hardly a
neighbor. I know Dave real well. Only met Steve once, though.
GM> I recently found a cache of Steve Morse midi files on a site in
GM> Australia that also had some Satriani...
GM> The beauty of this is that you can use whatever software to slow down
GM> the piece and conquer the stuff and gradually bring it up to speed...
GM> It's a great method, and what once was insurmountable is now just more
GM> repertoire!
How do you play MIDI files if you don't have a keyboard?
GM> So, Jim, if I learned all of Steve's tunes, would he have me in his
GM> band?-no harm in asking...hurry up and ask yer neighbour before ALL
GM> the arthritis sets in, K?
Oh sure! I'll ask him. Right after I ask him to mow my lawn ;)
Jim
