I've successfully connected at 28800 bps with the S/N ratio reported to be
35 dB up to 40 dB. 30 dB on an Australian fixed network connection would
get the Telstra network investigation people wondering what was going on.
Less than 23 dB would look bad in a carrier's report to Austel.
