What problems were you having with dosemu?  I compiled my dosemu 1.4.0.0 from 
source, followed the setup instructions on the MBSE website, added a copy of 
PC-DOS 2000 (which I already had anyway), and it works fine for me.  Sometime 
when I have nothing better to do, I'm going to try getting it working with 
FreeDOS.
