Funny, I was in Canada recently.  As it is most of what is on their news,
too, they wanted to get my opinion on politics.  Two of them wanted to
talk health care.  One is a dual citizen, born in the US.  He was telling
me how the government there is trying to get everyone above a certain age to
move into a bigger city, like Toronto (in his case) so that they can better
care for them.  He told them not to worry, when he retires he is moving to
Florida to get his senior health care here.

The other one, who is a Canadian-born citizen who served in the US military
and whose kids have dual citizenship (and live in the US).  He said that the
path that Obama, Bernie, and company were trying to take us down was the same
path the VA has gone down in recent years.  His opinion is that the whole of
US healthcare would become like the VA... not enough rooms, not enough
doctors, services not provided in a timely manner, services not provided at
all, etc.

However, despite his opinion of the VA, he still prefers using VA health
care to Canadian health care, even though he lives in Canada and is
entitled to either one.  He thinks the system that his American kids have
now is better than either.  What does that tell you?

I'm sure this will be answered with some liberal clap-trap to side-step or
prove that what I encountered was not normal.

I think Europeans and others are healthier than us because most of them are
(1) less likely to smoke or be exposed to smokers, (2) are more likely
to eat better, and (3) are less likely to be as sedentary as we are.  The
best health care system in the World is not going to overcome our love of
tobacco, junk food, and sitting around.
